We launched PICK-ME-UP in 2021 to share creativity with our community. It was something to grip onto in a time of uncertainty. Today, PICK-ME-UP is all about local creativity, initiative and enterprise - supporting projects and sparking new ones.

This event is part of a series celebrating the launch of PICK-ME-UP 02, a magazine about creativity and initiative. Jam packed with music, design, culture, enterprise, food and banter - it’s designed to showcase projects and spark new ones. In this issue of PICK-ME-UP, we profile side hustles, experimental event curators, a sex store founded in queer theory, street basketball, punks and more. We learn that ‘going off on your own’ is as much about having support from others, and that getting anywhere - often involves going backwards. The through-lines: collaboration, community and continuity of effort.
